The Pocket Book of Spurs
(Vision Sports Publishing, 2009)
Released in October 2009,
The Pocket Book of Spurs was packed with information and in full colour throughout. It tells the story of one of football’s most famous sides from its formation in 1882 to today’s star-studded squad of Defoe, Modric, Lennon and Palacios, together with sections on the team’s greatest goals, legendary players and most thrilling tactics. There’s also an illustrated history of the club badge and kit and a detailed cutaway diagram of White Hart Lane. Action images of stars old and new are complemented by colourful diagrams and sketches by Bob Bond, who illustrated the Roy of the Rovers cartoon strip for many years. The Pocket Book is rounded off with a club directory and a host of stats and records. It can be ordered direct from the publisher’s website.
A new and updated edition was released in October 2010, featuring the retro Admiral shirt from the late 1970s on the cover and new sections on Harry Redknapp, the 61 Double, and much more.
