The Glory Glory Nights
(Vision Sports Publishing 2012)
Issued to mark the 50th anniversary of Tottenham Hotspur becoming the first British club to win a European trophy,
The Glory Glory Nights is an officially-endorsed complete history of Spurs in European competition. The lavish, coffee-table format book contains reports of every game played by the club in European competition up to the start of the 2012/13 season, using a combination of press reports and the memories of fans and players. There are original, in-depth interviews with many of the star names to have graced the turf for Spurs in Europe, including Cliff Jones, Alan Mullery, Martin Chivers and Gareth Bale, and background features on the club’s travels, the fans and the origins of the Glory Glory tradition.
Throughout the book there are a wealth of stunning photographs, images which not only capture the magic of some epic matches at home and abroad, but which also provide a rarely glimpsed behind-the-scenes view of Spurs in Europe.
The book has been produced by the team behind the award-winning 61 The Spurs Double – with
Adam Powley and I sharing the writing duties and designer Doug Cheeseman crafting a handsome tome and taking his picture research skills to new levels. The team at Vision Sports Publishing has also brought its considerable experience to bear to ensure this is a publication of the highest quality. You can browse a selection of pages from the book at this microsite.
